Andromeda White Granite.
One of the most visually dramatic white-patterned granites in the South Indian range, Andromeda White features a deep grey-black matrix punctuated by striking white and cream feldspar islands — creating a bold, high-contrast appearance unlike any other white granite.
About White
Andromeda White Granite is sourced from quarries in southern Karnataka and northern Tamil Nadu, where deeply crystallised Precambrian granitoids produce the characteristic dark-matrix, light-island patterning. The stone sits within a well-defined quarry zone and has been consistently available in export volumes for commercial projects for over two decades. Blocks are inspected for colour consistency before processing to gangsaw slabs and tiles. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Geological Profile
Andromeda White is a coarse-grained anorthosite-rich granitoid in which large plagioclase and potassium feldspar megacrysts form the white-cream islands within a darker matrix of hornblende, biotite, and mafic minerals. The dark matrix is composed primarily of hornblende with subordinate biotite and pyroxene, which together produce the near-black background between the feldspar bodies. The coarse crystalline texture results from slow cooling at depth. The relatively low porosity of the dark matrix and the feldspar islands gives the stone good stain resistance.
Color & Character
Andromeda White Granite presents a deep charcoal-grey to near-black matrix hosting irregular white and cream feldspar patches of varying size — from small oval clusters to large irregular islands spanning several centimetres. The contrast between the dark matrix and the light feldspar bodies is sharp and bold, giving the stone an almost abstract graphic quality. On a polished surface, both the dark matrix and the white islands develop a high reflectivity, intensifying the contrast. The pattern is non-directional and variable between slabs, making each piece unique.
Best Applications
Statement Countertops
The bold black-and-white contrast of Andromeda White makes it a natural centrepiece for kitchen islands, bar tops, and hospitality counters where visual impact is a primary design goal.
Feature Walls
Full-height polished Andromeda White panels in hotel lobbies, residential living rooms, or restaurant interiors create dramatic architectural backdrops with natural stone depth.
Bathroom Walls & Floors
The stone's high contrast and dark matrix create luxurious, spa-like bathroom environments — particularly effective in large-format tile or continuous slab applications.
Commercial Lobbies
Reception desks, lift interiors, and entrance floors in high-end commercial and hospitality settings benefit from the stone's strong visual presence and surface durability.
Flooring
Large-format honed or polished Andromeda White tiles create striking floor compositions in contemporary interiors, particularly effective in open-plan spaces with high ceilings.
Exterior Cladding
The stone's density and low porosity make it suitable for exterior feature cladding and entrance surround applications in sheltered positions.

Care & Maintenance
Andromeda White Granite's relatively low porosity gives it good inherent stain resistance. Apply an impregnating sealer at installation for kitchen and bathroom uses, refreshing every 18 to 24 months. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner; the dark matrix may show water marks if not dried promptly on polished surfaces. Avoid bleach and acid-based cleaners. The polished finish is robust and retains its reflectivity under normal conditions.
