South Indian Granite

Aspen White Granite.

Aspen White is a pale, minimally patterned white granite from Karnataka that offers a clean, consistent surface with fine grey speckling — an ideal specification where a uniform light stone is required without strong veining or movement.

About White

Aspen White Granite is quarried in Karnataka's central granite belt, within the Dharwar Craton, where stable Precambrian intrusives produce pale, consistent leucocratic granites. The quarry operates on established seams that provide reliable block size and colour uniformity across production runs. The stone is processed to gangsaw slabs, cutter slabs, and calibrated tiles for export. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.63 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.30%
Compressive Strength ~168 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

Aspen White is a medium-grained leucocratic granite with a mineralogy dominated by quartz, potassium feldspar, and plagioclase, with very low dark mineral content — primarily fine biotite mica. The quartz content is higher than many Karnataka whites, lending the surface a subtle crystalline sparkle under light. Dark minerals are restricted to fine, scattered grains that create a light speckle rather than distinct clusters. The stone has moderate porosity typical of white granites and benefits from sealing in wet environments.

Color & Character

Aspen White Granite has a clean, pale white to light cream ground with fine, evenly distributed grey-black speckle from scattered biotite and hornblende grains. The texture is fine to medium grained and relatively uniform across slabs, with no pronounced movement, veining, or mineral clustering. The overall effect is calm and ordered — a stone that provides a light, neutral backdrop without competing with surrounding materials. On polished surfaces, the quartz content adds a subtle crystalline glitter to the white field.

Best Applications

Kitchen Countertops

Aspen White's uniform pale tone and even speckle make it a clean, professional kitchen worktop surface that pairs well with both light and dark cabinet finishes.

Bathroom Vanities

The stone's light, consistent colouring is well suited to bathroom vanity tops, shower enclosures, and basin surrounds in contemporary residential and hospitality settings.

Wall Cladding

Polished Aspen White panels create bright, clean wall surfaces in kitchen splashbacks, feature walls, and commercial reception areas.

Flooring

Honed Aspen White tiles provide a light, practical floor surface for residential and commercial interiors — the fine speckle helping to disguise minor soiling between cleans.

Exterior Paving

The stone's durability and frost tolerance make it suitable for garden paving, terrace surfaces, and entrance step applications in protected positions.

Commercial Interiors

Office lobbies, retail environments, and healthcare spaces benefit from Aspen White's clean, neutral appearance and long-term surface durability.

Care & Maintenance

Seal Aspen White Granite with a penetrating impregnating sealer at installation and re-seal every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom applications. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and wipe up spills promptly. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar, lemon-based products, or bleach. The stone's fine grain makes polished surfaces relatively easy to maintain and re-polish if needed.
