About Antico

Bianco Antico Granite is quarried in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where Precambrian granitic intrusives produce the characteristic warm cream-to-beige base with complex mineral inclusions. The stone has been in export production for several decades and is well established in international markets, particularly for kitchen countertop applications in North America and Europe. Consistent block supply and thorough grading ensure colour and pattern match across project quantities. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.64 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.25%
Compressive Strength ~175 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

Bianco Antico is a medium-to-coarse grained granite composed of potassium feldspar, quartz, plagioclase, biotite, and hornblende, with accessory iron-oxide minerals that contribute the warm cream-to-beige tone of the feldspar matrix. The dark mineral clusters — primarily hornblende and biotite — occur as irregular aggregates distributed across the surface. Some blocks contain secondary rose-pink feldspar bodies that add warmth to the overall colour palette. The stone has moderate porosity and benefits from sealing in kitchen and bathroom environments.

Color & Character

Bianco Antico Granite presents a warm cream to light beige background scattered with irregular clusters of dark grey, near-black, and occasionally rose-tinted minerals. The pattern is organic and non-directional, with mineral groups varying in size from fine speckle to larger circular aggregates. The overall composition is busy but warm, with the cream-gold background softening the contrast of the dark inclusions. Polished surfaces intensify the warmth of the feldspar and reveal subtle crystalline depth in the quartz zones.

Care & Maintenance

Bianco Antico Granite is moderately porous and benefits from impregnating sealer at installation, refreshed every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom settings. The cream background can be susceptible to oil staining if left unsealed; prompt spill removal is recommended. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner for routine maintenance and avoid acidic products. Polished surfaces are easier to clean than honed finishes in food-preparation environments.
