About White

Classic White Granite is quarried in Karnataka's Dharwar Craton, where leucocratic granitoid intrusives produce pale, consistent white stone with low dark-mineral content. The quarry has supplied export volumes of this stone for over two decades, with established grading protocols ensuring colour and texture consistency. The stone is processed to gangsaw slabs and calibrated tiles at Karnataka units. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.62 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.30%
Compressive Strength ~165 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

Classic White is a medium-grained leucocratic granite dominated by quartz, potassium feldspar, and plagioclase, with very low content of dark minerals — primarily fine biotite mica. The high feldspar-quartz proportion produces the clean white background, while scattered biotite grains introduce a fine grey speckle. The moderate porosity typical of white granites requires sealing for kitchen and bathroom applications. Quartz content gives the stone good scratch resistance despite its relatively lower compressive strength compared to darker mafic granites.

Color & Character

Classic White Granite has a clean, bright white to light cream ground with fine, evenly distributed grey-black speckling from scattered biotite grains. The texture is medium-grained and consistent across slabs, with no prominent veining, mineral clusters, or directional movement. The stone's simplicity is its defining quality — a dependably neutral surface that complements a wide range of design styles without demanding visual attention. Quartz inclusions add a subtle crystalline glitter to polished surfaces.

Best Applications

Kitchen Countertops

Classic White provides a bright, neutral worktop surface that works equally well in contemporary and traditional kitchen settings, complementing both dark and light cabinetry.

Bathroom Vanities

The stone's clean white tone and natural stone texture make it a popular choice for vanity tops and shower areas in residential and hospitality bathrooms.

Wall Cladding

Polished Classic White panels are well suited to kitchen splashbacks, lift interiors, and commercial reception walls requiring a clean, professional white surface.

Flooring

Honed Classic White tiles provide bright, practical floor surfaces for residential and commercial spaces — the fine speckle helping to disguise minor soiling.

Staircase Treads

The stone's hardness and clean appearance make it suitable for staircase tread and riser applications in residential and commercial settings.

Commercial Interiors

Healthcare facilities, office lobbies, and retail environments specify Classic White for its neutral character, long-term durability, and ease of maintenance.

Care & Maintenance

Classic White Granite should be sealed at installation with an impregnating stone sealer, refreshed every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom applications. White-ground granites are more visually susceptible to oil and food staining if left unsealed; prompt spill cleanup is important. Use pH-neutral stone cleaner for routine maintenance. Avoid bleach, vinegar, and acidic cleaners. Honed finishes require more frequent sealing than polished surfaces.
