About Brown

Coffee Brown Granite is quarried in Andhra Pradesh's established granite zone, within the Eastern Ghats geological belt, where iron-rich Precambrian intrusives produce the characteristic deep brown colouring of the stone. The quarry has been in export production for over fifteen years and supplies consistent block sizes for gangsaw processing. The stone is well established in European and North American kitchen countertop markets. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.70 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.20%
Compressive Strength ~185 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

Coffee Brown is a medium-grained granite with an iron-enriched potassium feldspar matrix that produces the characteristic deep brown colour. Mineralogy includes potassium feldspar, quartz, plagioclase, biotite, and hornblende, with accessory iron-oxide minerals contributing to the warm brown tonal range. The lighter mineral clusters visible across the surface are primarily plagioclase and quartz aggregates, while darker clusters are hornblende-biotite groupings. The stone has moderate porosity and benefits from sealing in kitchen and bathroom use.

Color & Character

Coffee Brown Granite presents a deep chocolate-brown to dark coffee matrix with a distributed pattern of lighter beige-brown and grey mineral clusters. The surface has an active, earthy quality — the warm brown ground contrasting with both the lighter feldspar aggregates and the darker hornblende clusters to create a naturally layered, three-dimensional appearance. Polished surfaces intensify the depth of the brown matrix and bring out subtle warm highlights in the feldspar zones. The pattern is non-directional and varies in detail between slabs.

Care & Maintenance

Coffee Brown Granite should be sealed with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-sealed every 12 to 18 months in food-contact and wet environments. The warm brown colour conceals many minor stains better than white granites. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic products. Polished Coffee Brown maintains its rich surface colour and finish under normal domestic and commercial conditions.
