About White

French White Granite is quarried in Karnataka's central leucocratic granite zone within the Dharwar Craton, where Precambrian intrusives produce pale, warm white stone with minimal dark-mineral content. The quarry has been in export production for over fifteen years and delivers consistent block quality suitable for large-format slab processing. The stone is supplied as gangsaw slabs and calibrated tiles. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.62 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.30%
Compressive Strength ~163 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

French White is a medium-grained leucocratic granite with a mineralogy dominated by quartz, white potassium feldspar, and plagioclase, with very low dark-mineral content — primarily fine-grained biotite. The high feldspar-quartz proportion produces the clean white to warm cream background, while biotite inclusions introduce a fine, subdued speckle. The warm undertone distinguishes French White from cooler, bluer white granites. Moderate porosity warrants sealing for kitchen and wet-area applications.

Color & Character

French White Granite presents a clean white to warm cream background with a fine, evenly distributed grey-brown mineral speckle from scattered biotite grains. The overall impression is soft and luminous — the warm undertone giving the stone a slightly more natural, less clinical character than cooler white granites. There is no prominent veining or clustering; the surface reads as a quietly textured white. On polished surfaces, the feldspar matrix develops a warm, subtle sheen, and the quartz content adds fine crystalline glitter.

Care & Maintenance

Seal French White Granite with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-seal every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom applications. White-background granites are susceptible to oil staining if left unsealed; wipe spills promptly. Use pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic products, bleach, and abrasive cleaners. Polished surfaces are more resistant to staining than honed finishes.
