About Black
Fusion Black Granite is quarried in South India's established dark granite zone, where mafic Precambrian intrusives produce the characteristic deep black matrix with fine compositional variation. The stone has been in export production for over a decade and is well established in architectural and countertop markets. It is processed to gangsaw slabs and calibrated tiles at South India units. Geological Profile
Fusion Black is a fine-to-medium grained mafic granitoid composed of hornblende, augite, plagioclase, and biotite, with trace magnetite and ilmenite. The deep black matrix reflects the high hornblende and augite content. The fusion patterning — subtle mineral streaks and compositional micro-banding — results from layering in the original mafic magma during slow crystallisation. Near-zero porosity makes the stone resistant to moisture ingress and staining without treatment.
Color & Character
Fusion Black Granite presents a deep black to very dark charcoal matrix with faint grey-black mineral streaking that gives the surface subtle directional texture visible at close range. The dark ground reads as uniform black at viewing distance, but the fusion banding introduces a quiet geological narrative to the slab surface. Polished Fusion Black achieves very high reflectivity — the black field almost mirror-bright — with the fusion streaks appearing as slight tonal variations across the polished plane.

Fusion Black Granite requires minimal maintenance. An impregnating sealer at installation adds extra protection for kitchen and bathroom applications. The polished surface shows water marks — dry promptly. Use pH-neutral stone cleaner and avoid abrasive products. Polished Fusion Black retains its depth and finish under normal conditions without periodic re-polishing.
