Himalayan Blue Granite.
Himalayan Blue Granite is a cool blue-grey stone with a subtle mineral shimmer and light warm inclusions — a refined, sophisticated granite that brings a quiet, natural depth to both interior and exterior architectural applications.
About Blue
Himalayan Blue Granite is quarried from South India's blue-grey granite zone in Andhra Pradesh, where specific Precambrian mafic intrusives produce the characteristic cool blue-grey colouring. The stone is processed to gangsaw slabs and calibrated tiles at established South India units and has been in export production for over a decade. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Geological Profile
Himalayan Blue is a medium-grained mafic granitoid composed of blue-grey plagioclase feldspar, hornblende, biotite, and quartz. The cool blue-grey colour of the plagioclase feldspar gives the stone its characteristic tone. Hornblende and biotite clusters appear as darker bodies within the grey-blue matrix, while lighter quartz and feldspar zones add subtle contrast. The stone has moderate porosity and should be sealed for wet-contact applications.
Color & Character
Himalayan Blue Granite presents a cool blue-grey to slate-coloured background with a fine mineral texture and subtle darker mineral inclusions distributed across the surface. The blue tone is understated rather than vivid — giving the stone a composed, refined quality compared to the more dramatic labradorescent blue granites. Light mineral inclusions introduce subtle warmth that prevents the surface from reading as cold or clinical. On polished surfaces, the stone develops a deep, quiet reflectivity that enhances its sophisticated character.

Care & Maintenance
Himalayan Blue Granite should be sealed with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-sealed every 18 months for kitchen and bathroom applications. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner; the cool grey surface can show water marks on polished finishes — dry promptly. Avoid abrasive and acidic cleaners. The polished finish retains its refined blue-grey character under normal conditions.
