About Gold

Imperial Gold Granite is quarried in Karnataka's central granite belt, where the specific iron-enriched Precambrian granitic intrusives produce the deep amber-gold colour of the stone. The quarry has been in export production for over fifteen years and supplies consistent block volumes to processing units in Karnataka. The stone is well established in North American, European, and Middle Eastern kitchen countertop and interior markets. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.

Geological Profile

Density ~2.67 g/cm³
Water Absorption <0.20%
Compressive Strength ~178 MPa
Mohs Hardness 6 – 7

Imperial Gold is a medium-to-coarse grained granite dominated by iron-bearing potassium feldspar in the amber-gold colour range, with quartz, plagioclase, hornblende, and biotite. The elevated iron content in the feldspar produces a rich, warm gold colour. The complex surface pattern results from the varied size and distribution of the dark hornblende-biotite mineral clusters and lighter quartz-plagioclase aggregates against the amber matrix. Moderate porosity requires sealing for wet and food-contact applications.

Color & Character

Imperial Gold Granite presents a rich amber to deep gold matrix with a complex, active pattern of near-black hornblende-biotite clusters and lighter cream-white feldspar-quartz zones. The three-tone composition — gold ground, dark clusters, lighter patches — creates a surface with significant visual depth and movement. On polished surfaces, the gold feldspar achieves an intense warm luminosity under natural and artificial light. The stone's opulence and richness make it a natural choice for luxury interior specifications where strong material character is desired.

Care & Maintenance

Imperial Gold Granite should be sealed with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-sealed every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom use. The warm gold tones benefit from prompt attention to oil and food spills. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic or abrasive products. Polished Imperial Gold maintains its rich amber depth and finish under normal conditions.
