Kashmir White Granite.
Kashmir White Granite is one of the most recognised South Indian white granites internationally — a white to light grey background with distinctive dark grey mineral clusters and occasional warm brown spots that create a naturally active, characterful white stone surface.
About White
Kashmir White Granite is quarried in Karnataka's Dharwar Craton, where specific leucocratic Precambrian intrusives produce the white matrix with characteristic dark hornblende clusters and rust-brown iron-oxide patches. The stone has been a major export product for over two decades, particularly for kitchen countertop markets in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Consistent supply, established grading, and high recognition in the architectural specification market make it one of Karnataka's benchmark white stones. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Geological Profile
Kashmir White is a medium-grained leucocratic granite dominated by white potassium feldspar and quartz, with plagioclase, hornblende, and biotite. The distinctive dark mineral clusters are hornblende aggregates distributed through the white matrix. The warm brown spots characteristic of the stone are iron-oxide alteration patches within the feldspar — a natural geological feature that varies in density between blocks. The moderate porosity of the stone requires sealing for kitchen and wet-area applications.
Color & Character
Kashmir White Granite has a clean white to light grey background scattered with irregular dark grey hornblende clusters and occasional warm brown iron-oxide patches. The contrast between the white matrix and the dark clusters gives the stone a bold, graphic quality that distinguishes it from quieter white granites. The brown spots, where present, add warmth to the otherwise cool white-grey palette. On polished surfaces, the white matrix achieves a clear, bright reflectivity and the dark clusters develop a deep, near-black contrast.

Care & Maintenance
Kashmir White Granite should be sealed with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-sealed every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom applications. The white background is susceptible to oil and food staining if left unsealed; prompt spill cleanup is important. The brown iron-oxide patches are natural and stable — they will not spread or change with normal cleaning. Use pH-neutral stone cleaner and avoid acidic or bleach-based products.
