Rosewood Granite.
Rosewood Granite from Andhra Pradesh is a rich, warm reddish-brown stone whose deep colouring and natural mineral texture evoke the visual character of fine rosewood timber — a distinctive natural stone for countertops and warm-scheme interior applications.
About Rosewood
Rosewood Granite is quarried in Andhra Pradesh's granite zone, where iron-enriched Precambrian granitoids produce the characteristic reddish-brown colouring. The stone has been in export production for over a decade and is processed to gangsaw slabs and calibrated tiles at Andhra Pradesh units. FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva. Origin and specifications verified by Gemarix.
Geological Profile
Rosewood is a medium-grained granite dominated by reddish-brown iron-bearing potassium feldspar, quartz, plagioclase, and biotite, with hornblende as an accessory dark mineral. The rich reddish-brown colour results from elevated iron-oxide content in the orthoclase feldspar. Biotite and hornblende appear as dark brown to near-black clusters distributed through the red-brown matrix. Moderate porosity requires sealing for kitchen and bathroom applications.
Color & Character
Rosewood Granite presents a deep reddish-brown to mahogany matrix with an active pattern of dark brown-black biotite and hornblende clusters set against the warm red-brown ground. The colour evokes warm timber tones — particularly fine rosewood or mahogany — giving the stone an unusual warmth and organic richness compared to cooler granite varieties. On polished surfaces, the red-brown feldspar achieves a deep, warm luminosity, and the stone's overall character appears richer and more saturated.

Care & Maintenance
Rosewood Granite should be sealed with an impregnating sealer at installation and re-sealed every 12 months in kitchen and bathroom applications. The warm red-brown tones benefit from prompt spill attention. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner; avoid acidic or abrasive products. Polished Rosewood maintains its rich reddish-brown depth under normal conditions.
